Fluoride Varnish Program
Our Organization developed a Fluoride varnish project to address dental disparities in the infants and Young children of our communities. our dental therapists and community health workers deliver oral prophylaxis followed by application of Fluoride varnish in our center.
We deliver to the children up to the ages of 13 and plan to cover the community within ten years.
Our program target children at risk for early childhood caries (ECC). In the first year of life, a child may visit a health care professional as many as six times. We deliver preventive oral health services to children during these visits, as well as educate their parents or caregivers about keeping children’s teeth healthy. These visits provide an opportunity for children to receive dental screenings, fluoride varnish treatments, and dental referrals. As many children are unable to access dental care until there is a need or until school-age, this program allows many children to receive a preventive service they might not have otherwise received. Referrals for regularly scheduled dental visits and for needed dental treatment are a part of the program.
Smiles For Everyone program :
We finally decided to test the awareness of fluoride varnish benefits among parents and their kids. As part of goal to implement the smiles for everyone program, we utilized Woburn Public Media to spread the information.
